Legends of supreme world

Mothers of cereals

Tempera on canvas. 2023. 40 x 40 cm

The history of the emergence of civilization has always interested me. It so happened that in recent years I have been studying the history of civilization from different points of view. What does it mean? It's simple. The story differs depending on who is telling it quite significantly. Therefore, in order to understand anything, you need to study primary sources, the most ancient writings, the most ancient civilizations. And not just one chosen people, but all of them.
Life is inextricably linked with creativity, it is a connection with incredible power. The same force creates worlds. And sometimes the power of creativity reveals the secrets of existence directly without the participation of consciousness. This is what happened with this picture. First, the face of an African woman appeared, then I decided that I needed to move it, I drew a second face, but decided to leave both, then a third one appeared, with a spike in the middle of the forehead. There were three female images, and then they told me their story:
In ancient ancient times, when cereals existed only in wild form. In the upper reaches of the Nile, in the very heart of Africa, not-lazy women began to select barley grains. Why women? Well, because men wanted to eat meat, it’s so natural. The development of cereal cultivation occurred extremely slowly, until someone’s barley porridge accidentally fermented. Yes Yes. Since it turned out that beer is made from grains, men have become interested in women's hobbies. And gradually grains became an obligatory crop. And then, much later, bread and various sweets appeared. It is known for certain that wheat owes its existence in the modern world to Mesopotamia. However, historical dates are being pushed back all the time; more and more archaeologists and historians are inclined to believe that the history of civilizations on our planet is somewhat older than previously thought. And the role of the African continent as the birthplace of culture, the birthplace of consciousness is increasingly asserted.
I was interested to make the composition of the painting from a distance resembling a germinating grain in cross-section; I just love that everything in the painting is symbolic. The colors, the position of the hands, and the direction of the sight are also not random. But let the viewer decipher it all himself. After all, each person has his own view and his own understanding of the world.
